Principal’s Message

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pleasure I welcome you to Countee Cullen Elementary School. I look forward to a New Year and opportunity to share in the educational development of your child (ren). We are fortunate to serve as “one” family and community. Our mutual goal remains strong:

Ensure that all students graduate on time, College and/or Career ready!

As principal, I am accountable for the academic performance of students; ensuring quality instruction is provided daily and Cullen’s staff sustains an environment conducive to teaching and learning. We are proud of our positive school culture.

We know students are unique and learning styles vary. Therefore, we must ensure to accurately assess performances and provide consistent support and enrichment. As CPS completes its final analysis of student data, we will post performance results and goals as a reminder of where we are and where we are determined to be!

Additionally, your child will have individual performance goals to achieve. Let’s make education a priority by ensuring you frequently review “Parent Portal”. This tool provides digital access to monitor daily grades and communicate with your child’s teachers; enhancing the opportunity for parent-teacher interaction.

Finally, I look forward in the partnerships created educating our students and the achievements and successes students will experience. If you have questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me. As you take time to review and discuss the information in this handbook with your child (ren), let us remember here at Countee Cullen Elementary, “The race for excellence has no finish line!”
